Jurgen Klopp admits coming back to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who left Liverpool in 2024, remarked that a future comeback remains something that could happen. Klopp, following a hugely successful nine-year spell featuring a European Cup triumph and ending the club's long wait since 1990, now holds positions in a global football capacity with the Red Bull group and as an advisor for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured the league title under Arne Slot, though countless followers who adore the manager would be thrilled by the possibility of his potential comeback. During an extensive chat, he shared with the podcast host: “I stated I refuse to lead another team on English soil. So that means should it be the Reds...yeah. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“At 58 years old, that means I might decide down the line, it's uncertain. Must I choose now? If so, I wouldn't return. Fortunately, it's not necessary. I can just see what the future brings.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Questioned regarding what circumstances would have to unfold to draw him back to management, he confessed he was not instantly drawn to such a return. “I'm not entirely sure, I enjoy my current role,” he said. “I don't crave being a coach; I don’t miss standing under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; No need for interviews four times, three times a week or doing numerous chats a week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room in that context, however, dining out with the team having a nice chat, is pleasant. Success was frequent so there was often a very good mood around the place. I still have Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh ringing in my ears to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly regarding Arne Slot, praising him for the tweaks that won the league in the previous season. They've been defeated four in a row in every contest following significant transfers, yet he dismissed the notion that it might signal a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, you will all eat your words if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. [Hugo] Ekitike, superb talent. This is a well-built well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret about Liverpool, things will improve.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Jota, whom he brought in while in charge, and the effect at the club. The Portugal international lost his life in a vehicle collision together with his sibling in July.

“How do you replace a person like him? This isn't just regarding his on-field talent, his personality mattered. I can’t imagine the team environment without him in it. I still cannot speak properly regarding this. It was an incredible shock for all the boys also. Not a single person would cite it as an excuse but it is the situation. Being in that space where he was omnipresent. Coping with it emotionally is difficult. Unbearable.”
