Liverpool's Star Offers Statement to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Salah expressed regret to the group of players following the uproar from his recent interview.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a vital match after criticising the club and stating his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
He also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I get that there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Their results have been impressive in the period after the interview fallout. Jones believes the Salah's words were not designed to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, performing and securing victories.”
