Trio Shortlisted for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.
The three finalists have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang helped the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The finalists were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.
This year's winner will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on December 18th.
The show will be televised from 7 PM GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being nominated for this honour is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Littler's Profile
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.
"Being nominated for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
